This guide provides detailed instructions on how to move an App User between the available teams.

Why move the app user?

Moving app users is a critical administrative function for:

  • Organizational Flexibility: Facilitating user reassignment due to project changes, departmental restructuring, or role transitions within a dynamic organization.

  • Team Management: Correct initial user assignments, particularly for users added via auto-activation or Single sign-On (SSO), which will default to a "Default Team." This ensures accurate team membership and access.

Before you begin

You will need access to the Sanas Portal to perform the following procedure. Portal users with Supervisor roles can move app users within the assigned teams only, whereas Admin role users can move app users to any team.

Move app user

  1. Log in to the Sanas Portal with your credentials.

  2. Click Users on the navigation menu, and ensure that the App users tab is selected.

  3. Select the team to which the app user is currently assigned.

  4. Select the check box next to the app user that you want to move. You can select multiple app users if required.

  5. Click Move user.

  6. From the Move to list, select the destination team.

  7. Select Move Users to confirm.

Move app users in bulk

  1. Log in to the Sanas Portal using your credentials.

  2. Click Users from the left and ensure the App users tab is selected.

  3. Click Bulk Import.

  4. Download template copy

    • Click Download template to download the template copy.

  5. Prepare template copy

    • Open the downloaded template copy on your computer.

    • In the Sanas Portal, on the Users page, select the team that contains the user you want to move.

    • Copy the user's User ID and Name and paste them into the template’s respective columns.

    • In the template's Team column, enter the name of the team where you want to assign the user.

      Improtant ℹ️ :

      If the team name does not exist, Sanas will create a new team with that name, and the user will be added to it.

    • Save the updated template file.

  6. Upload template

    • Come back to the Users page on Sanas Portal.

    • On the Bulk import window, click Select Excel file, upload the template, and select Review upload.

  7. Review upload

    • Errors: If errors occur, review the summary or select Download error report. Correct the template and select Re-upload.

    • Success: If successful, review the summary or select Download report.

  8. Click Confirm upload to save the changes.
