# Auto activation mode

### Overview

Auto activation is an app activation mode that allows users to activate their app without manually entering their credentials before they start using it. Auto-activation validates the user’s identity using the connected domain, such as Azure AD, on their computer and their user profile details. Upon validation, an active app license gets assigned to the user.

### Benefits of using auto activation mode

- **Credential-Free Activation:** Users can activate Sanas apps without manually entering login credentials, creating a seamless onboarding experience.
- **Automated User Provisioning:** User details are automatically added to the default Team within your Workspace during the first activation, eliminating the need for manual user management and credential sharing for administrators.

### Pre-Configuration Requirements

Before enabling auto-activation, review these important considerations:

- **User Team Assignment:** Users activated through auto-activation are initially assigned to the default team in your Workspace. Administrators can [reassign users](/v1/docs/how-to-move-users-from-one-team-to-another) to appropriate teams after activation if needed.
- **Workspace Compatibility**: Auto-activation can only be configured for Workspaces without existing license assignments. > Create a new Workspace and migrate your teams to enable auto-activation functionality. Contact [Sanas Support](/v1/docs/sanas-auto-activation-document-updated#support) if you need any assistance with creating new Workspace.
- **Default Activation Modes by Workspace Type:**
  - **Noise Cancellation Workspaces:** Auto-activation
  - **Accent Translation Workspaces:** User Activation Key (UAK)

## Configuration Steps

**Prerequisites:** You’ll need admin access on the Sanas Portal to modify the app activation mode.

1. Navigate to the [Sanas Portal](https://portal2.sanas.ai/) and log in using your credentials.
2. Click **Settings** from the main navigation menu and scroll to the **App activation mode** section.

4. Click **Save** to apply your changes.
