Introduction

Welcome to Sanas Noise Cancellation! This guide will walk you through setting up and using the Sanas app to enhance your audio quality during calls by removing background noise.

New to Sanas? We recommend reviewing our Sanas app overview guide to familiarize yourself with the interface before proceeding.

Before you begin;

Sanas app installed on your computer

  • Windows: Search "Sanas" in the Start menu

  • macOS: Search "Sanas" in Applications

  • Can't find it? Contact your IT team for installation assistance

Domain connection - Your computer must be connected to your organization's domain, and you must be logged into your user profile (required for auto-activation).

Stable internet connection

Step 1: Activate the Sanas App

App activation links the app usage license to your user profile, enabling Sanas to apply your team's configured settings.

Launch the App

Open the Sanas app on your computer. You'll see one of two activation methods:

Method 1: Auto-Activation

If configured by your admin, the app will activate automatically when you launch it.

Troubleshooting: If auto-activation fails:

  1. Ensure you're connected to your organization's domain

  2. Verify you're logged into your user profile

  3. Close and relaunch the Sanas app

Method 2: User Activation Key (UAK)

If auto-activation isn't available, you'll need credentials from your supervisor:

Required Information:

  • Workspace ID

  • User ID

Steps:

  1. Enter your Workspace ID and User ID in the respective fields

  2. Click Activate Key.

Handling Session Conflicts

If you see an "existing user session" warning, it means the Sanas app is already active with your credentials on another device or session. This warning appears to prevent license conflicts and ensure optimal performance.

Notification about an existing user session on another device with action options.

Warning message: Existing user session

Common Scenarios:

  • Shared licenses: Your organization shares Sanas licenses among team members. The warning displays the machine serial number to help identify which device is currently using the license.

  • Multiple device usage: You previously used Sanas on another computer but didn't properly close the session before switching devices.

Action: Click Continue to end the previous session (ensure no active calls are running on the other device first).

Step 2: Configure Your Audio Settings

Your home screen appearance depends on your admin's configuration. You'll see one of two setups:

What it does: Cancels noise for both what the Sanas app user hears and what recipients hear from the user.

Configuration:

  1. Enable toggles for both:

    • Outgoing audio (what recipients hear from the user)

    • Incoming audio (what the user hears from recipients)

  2. Select audio sources from the dropdown menus:

    • Outgoing audio: Your headset's microphone

    • Incoming audio: Your headset's speakers

What it does: Eliminates noise from the user's microphone (what recipients hear from the user).

Configuration:

  1. Enable the "Sanas Noise Cancellation Microphone" toggle

  2. Select your headset's microphone from the dropdown menu

Step 3: Configure Your Softphone Application

The final step ensures your softphone application uses the correct audio sources.

Identify Your Softphone Type

Web-based softphones (browser-based):

  • Sanas automatically applies your system's default audio settings to the browser

  • The browser will use these system-level preferences for all web-based softphone applications

  • Refer to these audio guides for Windows or macOS for system configuration

Application-based softphones (dedicated softphone applications):

  • Configure audio settings within the softphone application's audio menu

  • See our softphone-specific guides for detailed instructions

Audio Source Settings

Choose the correct settings based on your Sanas configuration:

For Omnidirectional NC Users:

  • Input audio: Sanas Virtual Audio

  • Output audio: Sanas Virtual Speaker

For Outgoing Audio NC Users:

  • Input audio: Sanas Virtual Audio

  • Output audio: Your headset's earphones (NOT Sanas Virtual Speaker)

ℹ️ Important: Using Sanas Virtual Speaker with the outgoing audio NC configuration will cause errors.

You're Ready!

Congratulations! Your Sanas Noise Cancellation is now configured and ready to use.
