Microphone positioning

Correct microphone positioning directly impacts how well Sanas captures your speech. Consistent placement ensures stable audio levels and reduces processing errors.

Headset fit

Adjust your headset to achieve a comfortable, secure fit. If your headset includes a length-locking mechanism (such as a click-stop), use it to maintain a consistent fit across sessions. Avoid a fit that is too loose or too tight, especially during long usage sessions.

Optimal microphone position

Position your microphone approximately two fingers away from the corner of your mouth. Use both hands to shape the boom arm into position. Once set, avoid adjusting the microphone during an active call, as repositioning can cause audio level fluctuations.

Positions to avoid

Do not place the microphone directly in front of your mouth, underneath your nostrils, or in contact with your lips or face.

Voice modulation techniques

How you speak has a direct impact on Sanas output quality. Follow these techniques for the clearest results:

1. Speak at your natural pace

Speaking too fast can cause unclear output and repetitions; speaking too slowly can reduce engagement.

2. Maintain a natural breathing rhythm

Avoid heavy breathing while speaking. Use natural pauses between sentences to breathe.

3. Articulate clearly and completely

Pronounce words fully and avoid mumbling or indistinct speech. Take natural pauses between sentences to maintain a smooth speech flow.

4. Try maintaining a consistent volume level

Speak at an adequate volume and keep that level steady throughout the call.

5. Always practice using proper grammar

Practicing good grammar generally improves clarity and reduces the likelihood of misunderstandings. Aim for clear, appropriately structured language suited to your audience and context.

Do’s and Don’ts

Use this checklist at the start of each Sanas session.

Do’s

Dont’s

Restart your computer daily to prevent performance issues.

Do not use a laptop's internal microphone or an external webcam microphone.

Verify your Sanas App configuration at the start of each session. Refer to the Sanas App User Guide for instructions.

Do not use analog or Bluetooth headsets. Always use a USB headset for the best audio quality.

Use a USB headset at all times.

Do not close the Sanas App during an active call.

Disable any built-in speech enhancement features in your softphone.

Do not speak too fast, too slowly, or at an inconsistent volume.

Configure your softphone's audio sources correctly at the start of each session. See Audio Configurations below.

Do not reposition your microphone during an active call.

Follow the voice modulation techniques outlined in this guide.

Do not ignore update notifications — install Sanas App updates promptly.

Audio configurations

Sanas relies on its dedicated audio drivers, called Sanas devices, to route audio streams through the Sanas App. Your softphone must be configured to use the Sanas devices to allow Sanas to operate unintrupted.

Configure your softphone's audio settings based on the features available in your Sanas App.

Regular maintenance techniques

Routine maintenance keeps the Sanas App running efficiently and prevents performance degradation over time.

  • Restart your computer daily to close background processes and free up system resources.

  • Clear temporary files regularly to avoid unnecessary storage buildup.

  • Install app updates as soon as you receive an update notification.

  • Re-initiate a fresh Sanas App session after a long usage session. This syncs any pending updates deployed by your admin.

  • Restart the Sanas App if your CPU utilization exceeds 60% to prevent performance issues.

  • Test your headset regularly to catch any hardware issues that may cause audio degradation.
