Introduction
This guide takes you through setting up and using Accent Translation on the Sanas desktop application so you can sound clear and consistent on every call. It covers confirming your setup is ready, logging in, turning on Accent Translation for outgoing and incoming audio, selecting your voice type, personalize your voice profile, previewing your translated voice with the Hear Your Voice feature, and sharing feedback on your experience.
Before You Begin
As an App User, make sure you have the following ready:
The Sanas App is installed on your computer.
Your login credentials are on hand (required if you're logging in via User Activation Key (UAK) and/or Email-Passcode authentication).
Your wired USB headset is connected to your computer.
A stable, working internet connection.
If using Auto Activation authentication: your computer is connected to your organization's domain, and you're logged into your user profile.
For more details, visit this link.
Note: If any of the above items are missing or not working as expected, please contact your account admin for assistance.
Login and Setup Your Sanas App
Launch the Sanas app on your computer.
Select the authentication mode available on the login page — User Activation Key (UAK), Email-Passcode, Auto Activation, or Single Sign-On, and refer to this guide on how to utilize them.
After a successful authentication, you will be directed to the Accent Translation Translation panel.
If this is your first time using the Sanas App, a built-in onboarding guide will automatically appear to help you navigate the app. You can also revisit them should you wish to modify your Sanas app settings. Go through all the sections before proceeding to the next steps here.
Configure Accent Translation App Controls
By default, the toggles in the Accent Translation panel are ON, unless your account admins have disabled them in the Sanas Portal.
Note: The Insights view only appears if you have access to Speech Intelligence along with Accent Translation.

Select your Voice Type, either Masculine or Feminine. You can change this at any time.

Keep the toggle of your Accent Translation for outgoing audio ON. This is to ensure that you are utilizing the product during your calls.
The Noise Cancellation toggle for outgoing audio is linked to the Accent Translation toggle and can only be disabled when Accent Translation is turned off. Keep it ON for a noise-free interaction.
Click the Hear Your Voice tab to hear how you sound with Accent Translation enabled. This is a great way to practice before taking calls and identify potential audio issues that may affect your call experience.

The Noise Cancellation for incoming audio toggle is linked to Accent Translation and can only be disabled when Accent Translation is turned off. Keep it ON for a clearer, noise-free call experience.
Note: Sanas Personalization is already baked into the onboarding guide. To revisit the steps, proceed to Personalize your voice profile section of this article.
Set up your calling application
Configure your softphone or video app (e.g., Zoom, Teams) to use Sanas. These settings are usually applied automatically, but verify them before each session.
In your calling app's audio settings, set:
Setting | Select |
Microphone / Input | Sanas Audio or Sanas Virtual Microphone |
Speaker / Output | Sanas Speaker |
Submit Feedback
Your feedback is critical and important to us in understanding your experience with Sanas and helping us improve. Submitting feedback takes less than a minute and can be done directly from the Sanas App.
Note: When should you submit feedback? Any time you have a notably good or bad experience on a call. How to do it? Refer to this guide.
FAQs
Existing user session identified. What to do?
Sanas allows only one active session per license. If you're already signed in on another device, you'll see this message:
"Existing user session identified"
Click Continue to end that session and start a new one here. Before doing so, make sure Sanas isn't currently being used on an active call on the other device — continuing will disconnect it.

What if I don't see "Sanas Virtual Audio" in my calling app?
If Sanas devices aren't showing up:
Make sure the Sanas app is running and your headset is connected.
Restart your calling application. The devices should appear if Sanas is running and your microphone is selected as the audio input source on the app.
If still missing, contact your admin.
What if I have audio issues during a call?
Here are a few common issues caused by incorrect configuration:
No audio at all: Verify that your microphone is not muted in your softphone application and that the audio configuration in both the Sanas app and your softphone is correct.
Caller can't hear you: Ensure your connected headset's microphone is selected as the input device in the Sanas app, and that the Sanas microphone is selected in your softphone.
Voice break: Check your CPU usage. If it's high, close unnecessary background applications or relaunch your Sanas app session.
If the issue persists, contact your admin and report the issue.
Where do I find my Account/Group ID and User ID?
Your admin sends these during onboarding. Don't share your User ID with others.
How do I know Sanas is working during a call?
Sanas runs quietly in the background. If your setup is correct, it's working. We recommend a test call to confirm.
