Introduction
Language Translation processes speech using the source and target languages configured for each Group. These settings take effect as defaults for all Sanas App users in the group upon app activation. Sanas translates between the configured languages bidirectionally, enabling real-time multilingual conversations between your agents and their recipients.
Configure languages at the Account level to apply a common baseline language across all groups, or at the group level to tailor settings for specific teams.
Language types
Configure the following language types:
Source language — The language the Sanas App user speaks. This is the input language Sanas uses for translation.
Target language — The language the call recipient speaks. Set this based on the primary preferred language of the recipients your team interacts with.
Info: Configuring languages at the Account level applies a common baseline across all groups. Group-level configuration lets you tailor language settings for specific teams.
Language configuration locks
Language configuration has two independent Lock Configuration toggles, one for each language type:
Source language lock — Ensures all subgroups use the common source language.
Target language lock — Ensures all subgroups use the common target language.
These locks can be enabled independently, giving you flexibility to enforce one language while allowing users to modify the other. See Lock Configuration to learn more.
Note: Once a language lock is configured:
App user can not modify the selction from the Sanas App.
Subgroup admin cannot modify the language selection from the Portal.
Before you begin
Ensure your Portal role has Group or Account Settings: Full access.

Select a group on the Group Tree for which you want to configure the languages. Alternatively, select Account to apply common language settings across all groups. Groups can still override these configurations unless Lock Configuration is enabled.
Navigate to Settings > Configuration > Language Translation.
