Omnidirectional Noise Cancellation

Prev Next

Introduction

Omnidirectional Noise Cancellation removes background noise from both sides of a call — yours and your recipient's — giving you a completely noise-free calling experience. All processing happens on your device; your recipients don't need to install anything.

Feature Overview

Available On

Noise Cancellation

Supported Sanas App Version

5.2.x and above.

Required Permissions

  • Group settings: Full access (to configure for a group)

  • Account settings: Full access (to configure account-wide)

How it works

Omnidirectional NC works in the following stages:

  • Enablement: As an admin, enable the Omnidirectional NC feature for a group having access to the Noise Cancellation feature.

  • App user usage: Once enabled, the intended Sanas app users start seeing two dedicated toggles for Noise cancellation. The update should happen on their next automatic app sync.

For admins: Enable Omnidirectional NC

  1. Log in to the Portal and select the intended group from the Group Tree.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Configuration.

  3. Under Products, select Noise Cancellation.

  4. Enable the Inbound Noise Cancellation toggle.
Settings page showing noise cancellation options and configuration toggle for users.

  5. (Optional) Enable the Toggle-ability feature to prevent users from manually disabling NC controls from the Sanas App.

  6. (Optional) Enable Lock Configuration to prevent subgroup admins from overriding this setting.

For users: Audio routing setup

For Sanas to process audio from both sides of the call, your audio devices must be routed correctly in two places.

1. Configure the Sanas App

In the Sanas App, select your physical hardware:

  • Input Device: Your headset microphone.

  • Output Device: Your headset earphones.Audio settings interface showing microphone and speaker options with noise cancellation feature.

2. Configure your communication platform

In your softphone or conferencing software (Zoom, Teams, dialers), select the following Sanas audio devices:

Platform

Input Device

Output Device

Windows

Sanas Audio

Sanas Audio

macOS

Sanas Microphone

Sanas Speaker

Important: Sanas needs constant access to your audio stream to perform synthesis. To do that, configure your softphone’s audio sources (input and ouput audio) to above Sanas devices based on your used platform.

And that’s it, now you can independently control the NC toggle in the Sanas App during your calls.

FAQ

Does this work if my recipient is in a very noisy environment, like a street or a busy office?

Yes. The AI model isolates the recipient's voice from the incoming audio stream and suppresses background noise, regardless of the caller's environment.

Will this affect my computer's performance?

Sanas is optimized for enterprise hardware. Processing both audio streams has minimal impact on system performance.

Can I turn off just the incoming noise cancellation?

Yes. Disable the NC toggle for incoming audio in the Sanas App.
