This guide outlines standard best practices for Sanas app users. We’ve outlined these practices based on our internal testing and app users’ experiences to ensure that Sanas works seamlessly with your system.

Adhering to these best practices significantly enhances Sanas’s ability to deliver accurate voice processing and accent translation, ensuring precise and natural-sounding translation.

Microphone positioning

Proper microphone positioning is critical for Sanas's voice synthesis capabilities:

  1. Adjust headphone fit:

    • Adjust the headband length to achieve a comfortable fit.

    • Use click-stop features (if available) to secure the desired length.

    • Avoid wearing headphones too tightly or too loosely, which can cause discomfort during extended calls.

  2. Position the microphone boom:

    • Use both hands to shape the microphone boom arm

    • Position the microphone approximately two finger-widths away from the corner of your mouth

    • Maintain this distance consistently during calls

  3. Avoid incorrect placement:

    • Do not place the microphone directly in front of your mouth

    • Keep the microphone away from underneath your nostrils

    • Prevent the microphone from making contact with your lips or face

✅ Restart computer daily: Restart your computer daily to prevent performance issues

🚫 Never select Sanas as audio output: Do not select Sanas Speaker under audio output settings of your used softphone service.

✅ Verify app configuration: Always check that the app is enabled and the correct audio input is selected before starting

🚫 Avoid external webcam microphones: Do not use webcam microphones for audio input with Sanas; use your headset instead

✅ Use high-quality headsets: Use only compatible headsets, preferably with USB connections rather than analog connections

🚫 Don't close Sanas during calls: Closing the Sanas app during an active call can disrupt voice synthesis
