Best Practices: Accent Translation

This guide outlines best practices for using the Sanas app, ensuring seamless integration with your existing workflow and delivering the most natural, consistent audio quality.

🎧 Microphone Positioning

The position of your headset's microphone is one of the most critical aspects in capturing your audio while you speak. Incorrect positioning can result in the omission of certain audio sections when pitch and frequency vary.

1. Adjust the headset to the correct length

Wear the headset and adjust its headband length to achieve a comfortable fit. Do not wear your headset too loose or too tight to avoid any discomfort during extended calling sessions. Secure your preferred headband length if your headset has a click-stop or another locking mechanism.

2. Optimal microphone position

Position your microphone at approximately two-finger distance away from your mouth's corner. Use both hands while shaping your microphone's boom arm. Avoid changing the microphone position during an ongoing call to prevent any possible audio level fluctuations.

3. Avoid incorrect microphone placement

Never place the microphone directly in front of your mouth, underneath your nostrils, or in contact with your lips or face.

🗣️ Voice Modulation Techniques

You can achieve great results with Sanas by following these simple voice modulation techniques:

1. Speak at your natural pace

Always try to speak at your natural pace. Speaking fast may result in unclear messages and repetition, while speaking unnaturally slowly may lack engagement in the conversation. Practice maintaining a consistent pace throughout your calling sessions.

2. Articulate clearly

Pronounce words correctly and completely without mumbling or indistinct pronunciation for clear communication. Always take pauses between sentences and maintain a natural speech flow.

3. Maintain adequate volume

Speak at an adequate volume and maintain that level throughout the call to clearly distinguish your voice from background noise. Audio level fluctuations often lead to an unpleasant calling experience for recipients.

4. Manage breathing

Take breaths between sentences and avoid taking them in between. Avoid heavy breathing while speaking and maintain a steady rhythm during your conversations.

5. Understand your Sanas app

Sanas does a great job of understanding and translating your accent to help you sound your best during calls, but it cannot fix any mispronunciations or incorrect grammar. Focus on using correct grammar and proper pronunciation during your calls.

For example, pronounce "vehicle" correctly as "vee-uh-kel," and not "vy-kel".
